A crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle left one person dead Sunday afternoon near Forest Grove, the Oregon State Police said.
Investigators found a 70-year-old Beaverton woman turned her Toyota left from Springhill Road onto Hwy 47. An oncoming BMW motorcycle slammed into the Toyota.
The motorcyclist, 44-year-old Chris William Garfield, died at the scene after the side-impact crash. Garfield’s passenger, a minor girl, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Toyota driver was not hurt.
The crash on Hwy 47 at SW Spring Hill Road closed that stretch of highway for 3 hours.
The Oregon State Police, Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation officials investigated the crash, Forest Grove fire officials said.
