Steven Pringle Dies in car crash while delivering free bikes in Florida

In a car accident in Florida on November 23, Steven Pringle, the proprietor and operator of Build a Bicycle and Bicycle Therapy in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, passed away. To distribute free bikes to children who were evacuated by Hurricane Ian, Pringle was driving.

Army veteran Pringle opened his business to support veterans.

On a GoFundMe page created to help with funeral expenses, his family wrote, “He loved life and everything it had to give.” “He loved to help people, which inspired him to start Build a Bicycle Therapy and Rolling Wheels, a company that uses bikes as therapy. He oversaw initiatives for the disabled, ex-offenders, and others. He gave away numerous bicycles to individuals in need, such as foster children and people fleeing crime.

All contributions will go toward hiring him and getting bikes for people in need.

Pringle reportedly passed through a crossroads without a stop sign because of the hurricane while operating a pickup truck hauling a trailer full of bicycles.

Few weeks prior to his passing, Pringle was featured in an article in the Detroit Free Press.

According to the website for Build a Bicycle, Bicycle Therapy, the business also ran a store called Rolling Wheels in Sarasota, Florida.
