The passing of a student and hockey player from Tech High School is being lamented by the St. Cloud hockey community.
On Saturday, December 10, after the St. Cloud Crush boys hockey game versus Rogers, Charlie Boike was killed in a car accident. Boike was the team’s junior forward.
In the neighborhood, the Boike family is well-known. Jeff, Charlie’s father, has coached hockey kids since they were junior mites (ages 7-8) up till bantams (ages 14-15). Erika, Charlie’s mother, is the director of lodging and game day operations for the St. Cloud Norsemen junior hockey club.
On Sunday afternoon, there were no immediate details available. The report will be released as soon as Monday, according to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
