17-year old Philadelphia girl accused of killing two people in Pottstown
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office reports that a months-long hunt for a 17-year-old girl wanted for the attempted murder of another juvenile and the murder of a man has been successful. On August 28, a shooting that left Dakari Rome dead and a 17-year-old kid hurt on Pottstown’s Grant Street and Union Alley led to the arrest of Jahme Barnes, 17, of Philadelphia.Authorities claim that the SUV where Barnes, the two victims, co-defendant Kahseem Williams, who was apprehended on September 1, and an unidentified female were “hanging out” as the shooting took place, contained blood smears and multiple shot shells. The DA’s office claims that messages on Williams’ phone showed a conversation he had with Rome:Rome sent Williams the following text message: “Yo beg him to hold his gat (slang for gun) after he gives it to you say em he burnt (slang for cheated or fooled) we gon’ to go in a ride.”Williams sent Rome a message a short while later that read, “Tell em let you have it while I drop him off up there once he do don’t give it back we go slide to citt.”According to reports, the injured 17-year-old admitted to having a 9 mm Glock on the night of the murder.According to authorities, the youngster handed Rome the gun, who then passed it to Williams, who then handed it to Barnes, who started toying with the gun and recording herself.Barnes allegedly pointed a gun at the boy and asked, “What else you got?” before opening fire. The teen’s hand was struck by the bullet, which then fatally entered Rome’s chest. The 17-year-old then apparently ran from the car while Williams reportedly kept firing at him. After an arrest warrant was filed on August 29, Barnes was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on Friday at a residence in North Philadelphia. She is accused with murder in the first, second, and third degrees as well as aggravated assault, robbery, conspiracy, possession of a weapon used in a crime, and multiple firearms offenses. Thanks for reading from Ghsplash a news publishing website from Ghana.
